Chevron saved $988,240

Chevron's El Segundo refinery in Los Angeles deployed LIFTBOT across 4 assets during pre-turnaround scaffold erection — 2 flare stacks, 1 distillation column, and 1 furnace. On flare stacks, LIFTBOT fully replaced cranes. On the column and furnace, it handled scaffolding and insulation while the crane focused on heavy mechanical components. The result: approximately $1 million in cost savings, 4,000+ hazardous man-hours eliminated, and a 30% schedule reduction. Chevron subsequently scaled LIFTBOT across North America and became a strategic investor in Kewazo.

Expectation
Why FHR chose LIFTBOT in this project?
FCC turnarounds use a single large crane for all material movement — scaffolding, insulation, refractory, mechanical components, and tools. Everything happens sequentially because the crane can only serve one task at a time. At a 96,000 bbl/day refinery, every hour on critical path costs hundreds of thousands of dollars in deferred production. The FCC reactor is too congested to fit a second crane.
