Field Service Technician in Robotics (m/f/d)

Permanent position - Full-time / Part-time - Garching b. München

During the scaling stage of our business, we are looking for a person eager to support varying aspects of our product's deployment - delivery, maintenance, field service, and internal troubleshooting. The ideal candidate for this position has a proactive and dynamic personality and thrives in a constantly changing environment defined by a broad range of responsibilities. Many of these are cyclic in nature, so the ideal person welcomes a change of pace, and wishes to become an expert in the complete inner workings of our products.

Your tasks:

  • Be responsible for the organizational chain of pilot projects and field demos

  • Secure correct operations of the robotic system on-site during pilot projects

  • Spend your time at refineries and construction sites showcasing our robot to clients

  • Be involved in Supply Chain Management, particularly component ordering and inventory

  • Support upcoming prototype assemblies, and production for system deliveries

  • Perform high-level Quality Control before product deliveries (checklists, system testing)

  • Carry out scheduled and emergency maintenance on deployed systems

  • Identify root causes of technical issues in production and out of box failures

  • Help optimize new products from R&D into Production

  • Communicate to other departments about new product development, giving insights from technical issues of previous products

  • Engage in internal issues review and client calls

  • Document customer feedback and interviews

  • Support troubleshooting client issues

  • Train customers

  • Assist in support hours of operation and off-hour production emergencies

Your profile:

  • Training or completed studies in an engineering discipline

  • Knowledge and experience with troubleshooting and maintenance of electromechanical equipment

  • Practical experience in construction is an advantage: you understand how construction works and how people in construction think

  • A hands-on approach to engineering and willingness to get your hands dirty in the workshop

  • You feel comfortable speaking to customers, suppliers, and team members

  • High willingness to travel, nationally and internationally

  • At least a B driver's license and being comfortable driving a 3,5T van

  • Strong problem-solving skills and independent working style

  • Proficiency in spoken and written English and German (B1 at least)
